I can see it in the eyes,
They’re tired, haggered, old.
Not yet ready to lay down
but missing the spirit that once filled them.
They think they hide.
They think I nor anyone else can see them.
I can see it in the eyes.

They’re sad, lonely, cold.
Still not able to look up
And wishing they didnt have a need to.
They know they can’t hide,
But they wonder how they became so invisible
I can see it in the eyes.

They’re hurt, angry, blind.
Wanting so to scream out loud
And hoping they dont have to, not this time.
They know they have to hide,
They know, if they don’t stay hidden, they will die.
